Into What is the state of the art technology trends in the office?
This was revealed by a survey conducted by RS Consulting on behalf of Canon , conducted in European level, in order to analyze how they are evolving working methods in the field of management of document flow and information and as a greater awareness and information about the purchasing decisions could define the solutions that best meet the needs of technology users in office environments .

Into The research found that in companies there are discrepancies between the opinions of purchasing managers in the IT sector and the real needs of end-users in an office environment and that this lack of communication can lead, the long term, the penalty optimization of IT investment, not enhancing its full potential.
The research is the result of a survey online on a sample of 1,671 employees, including 300 decision-makers from different sectors of the market and an additional 60 telephone interviews in-depth directed to a selection of end users from 12 countries.
An important fact that has emerged from the research is that the printed documents and elettronic are still the focus of any work activity: 30% of respondents, in fact, would not be able to do its job if you do not have access to a printer or a multifunction. The indispensable tool, next to the printer, turns out to be di ventanto the scanner.
A radical change, however, is being recorded in the way the employees intend to generate and manage the documents themselves because of a greater time flexibility work and the spread of mobile connectivity ever more massive and of the “consumerization” of IT: companies are driven to a technological change that allows employees to be also operating outside the company .
The majority of respondents also stated the need for suggestions and support from IT departments in order to optimize productivity, only a quarter of the sample believe, in fact, to fully understand the potential of office equipment.
Another aspect that emerges from the research is the communication gap between employees and IT managers . The employees of the companies not only do not feel properly involved, but would be even excluded when it comes to acquiring a new technology for business use.

In to their part, however, the IT decision makers see it as a problem user involvement in the selection process of the devices and in the development of the infrastructure.
Another element that highlights the gap between what users expect and how the IT department is able to offer them is the guarantee of the security of data within the workflow of documents .

Into The users are aware of the urgency for companies to be able to effectively manage the security of documents, when in fact less than 5% of purchasing managers IT declares that it considers the security features of a key requirement for the choice of the device printing, copying and scanning.
