DP-V3010 signed the first professional monitor 4K Canon - Data Managers online

Into New entry in the display market for Canon. The first monitor with a resolution of 4K 30 “is designed for use with highly professional and ensures accuracy, consistency, color constancy and reliability

Canon , the world leader in professional imaging, today announced its entry into the market for 4K monitor with the presentation of the model DP-V3010, a display of 30 “designed specifically for color grading and the production of high quality 4K video. Strengthening the continuing commitment of Canon in the broadcast industry and cinema, the new DP-V3010 – along with Canon Cinema EOS system – offers a solution input-output professional-quality 4K digital cinema, and a larger workflow in video production.

With specific techniques designed to provide a precise and repeatable output, DP-V3010 is optimized for use in activities such as color grading, in which the overall image quality and consistency are paramount. Its ability to display natively 4K high-resolution images and the range of color options make DP-V3010 suitable for use on set or on location, as well as other applications such as CGI, Computer Aided Design and 3D animation.

Mogens Jensen, Director of Canon Professional Imaging Group Italy , said: “The new monitor DP-V3010 is an exciting milestone for Canon and complements our existing portfolio 4K. We have listened carefully to the needs of the market throughout the development of the project of the display to provide an exceptional product suitable for the highest quality productions. It offers incredible precision, reliability and flexibility, combined with our Cinema EOS cameras, provides an excellent solution input-output suitable for a wide range of contexts. “

Accurate color reproduction

Into DP-V3010 is designed to offer an extraordinary 4K resolution and incredible accuracy in color reproduction, even across multiple displays.

Into The display is handled by an image processor specially developed, designed and manufactured by Canon. The processor, in conjunction with the system of RGB LED backlight and the LCD panel IPS, offers consistent quality and color both on set during the shoot either in the process of editing in post-production.

Into Thanks to the incomparable wealth of Canon in the development of imaging technologies, image processor supplied with DP-V3010 helps ensure uniform brightness and color to a high level of uniformity across the screen. A 10-bit panel operates with the processor to allow viewing of 1,024 gradation levels for each color of RGB and provide shades of exceptional accuracy with all types of content. As a result, the display ensures easy and faithful color reproduction is essential for color grading, providing a viable alternative to using a dedicated projector compatible DCI in post-production.

Into The backlight LED RGB DP-V3010 allows playback of a wide range of colors. In combination with the IPS LCD panel, the display supports color space is most commonly used in cinema, DCI-P31, as well as the color spaces of different transmission standards (ITU-R BT.709, EBU and SMPTE-C) and Adobe rGB2. DP-V3010 with its 30 “is designed for desktop or wall installations in editing studios, and is ideal for video editing, color grading, special effects and advanced production needs to support 4K digital cinema.

High resolution and high-contrast

Into The IPS panel LCD offers a resolution of 4,096 x 2,560 pixels, enabling native playback with DCI 4K resolution (4,096 x 2,160 pixels), without scaling the image. The display is also suitable for PC-based editing tasks, such as processing and high-resolution visual effects production, with an aspect ratio of 16:10. Moreover, the technology of image processing Canon, in combination with the IPS LCD panel, high contrast, provides a contrast ratio greater than 2000:1, value recommended by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) to work in post- phones3 in film production. Ensuring the accurate display of night scenes and other very dark scenes, DP-V3010 exactly reproduces gradations in dark areas of an image, by no means least in digital filmmaking.

Into DP-V3010 also supports a wide viewing angle with slight variations in color and contrast throughout the IPS LCD panel, providing a very effective solution for rooms or installations where multiple users want to control the quality of the images.

Monitoring on-location

Into Featuring a dedicated picture mode that supports Canon Log gamma4, DP-V3010 allows you to watch videos shot with Cinema EOS system cameras into images suitable for monitoring on set.

Into addition to supporting the standard frame rate for cinematic 24p, the new display Canon accepts a wide range of video input signals to 4K, from 23.98p to 60p, including the 50p frame rate more common in broadcast productions EMEA. Support for metadata format ASC CDL5 and 1D/3D-LookUp Tables (LUT) enables accurate color matching both on set and in the color grading.

Into DP-V3010 offers three modes of scaling to full HD and 2K signals, including the Canon Shape Tracing technology, which eliminates jagged edges of diagonal lines when the content is enlarged and displayed at full screen resolution.

Increased reliability and uptime

Into To ensure high levels of reliability, DP-V3010 is subjected to a precise color calibration at the factory. When the display is in operation, the high precision of the color is maintained in a manner continued from an advanced system that automatically corrects all the changes in color and brightness over time in order to ensure performance of the display always high and stable.

Into DP-V3010 includes a control unit that facilitates intuitive operation through its simple layout of buttons and knobs, and can be used on a desktop or installed in a standard 19-inch rack.

Into Operation and maintenance are further simplified by support for the calibration of white balance, brightness, color temperature, gamma and color space without the need of a PC using a compatible third-party external sensor.
