Canon announced the new Canon G1X Mark II, heir to the G1X, now revived with some interesting technological improvements and sensor by as much as 1.5 inches. Price close to a thousand euro
Canon has unveiled the new Canon G1X Mark II, the second version of the interesting compact evolved released in 2012. Again, as in the case of the previous model, the main feature of the Canon G1X Mark II is represented by its generous 12.8 MP CMOS sensor, characterized by a diagonal of 1.5 inches, slightly higher in terms of area to that of the sensors Micro fitted to the Four Thirds mirrorless Panasonic and Olympus, assisted by the new DIGIC 6, which allows performance in low light than the previous G1X.
Another feature of the Canon G1X Mark II is the new 24-120mm zoom lens (5X), now more light through an aperture f/2.0-3.9, which puts to silence criticism of the previous version caused by the lens in trouble in low light conditions. Added to this is the ISO range of 100 to 12,800, an autofocus system with 31 AF points, a screen of 1.04 million points of tilting 3-inch touch screen, 1080/60p video capability and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and NFC.
From the specificationsthe camera promises a very positive performance, able to compete with the latest advanced compact but also with many mirrorless and DSLR emblazoned. The new Canon G1X Mark II will be available on the cheap: the new compact camera will be on sale from next April at a price not too compact for 935,00 Euro including VAT, with availability starting in May. Included will be sold in Europe with a specific handle for greater control and grip while shooting.
