Alongside his expert compact PowerShot G1 X Mark II, Canon unveiled two new digital cameras in its range of compact mid-range devices: the PowerShot S200 and PowerShot D30. The first will be marketed from April at a price of 300 euros and the second from April at a price of 280 euros.
The Canon PowerShot D30 is a waterproof compact fighter without additional housing to a depth of 25 meters. It is also resistant to cold (-10 ° C), dust and falls (2 meters). It features a 12.1 Megapixel sensor and has a wide-angle 28 mm lens, a 5X optical zoom and a stabilizer. Its 3-inch LCD screen can be used in direct sunlight thanks to a special viewing mode, while the GPS can record the route taken to achieve the shots.
For its part, the Canon PowerShot S200 wants to be more “expert”, while remaining easy to use, thanks to its adjustment ring located around the lens. It has a wide angle 24 mm lens (maximum aperture of f / 2) and sends its light to a 10.1 megapixel sensor, while with a 5x zoom. The image processing is provided by a Digic 5 processor, with a possible image recording RAW and video recording 720p HD amount at 24 frames / second. Integrated GPS and Wi-Fi enable sharing geotagged photos on online services such as Flickr and Google Drive. (EP)
