Available the new Petzval lens for Canon and Nikon to 549 € - Macity

Available

the Petzval lens of Lomography, a reconstruction of the historical lens of 1800, compatible for Canon and Nikon and for pre-order on the shop.

Lomography has officially unveiled its Petzval lens, the modern version of the old Petzval lens, which was developed in the mid 1800s or so, and now given a new life by the specialist in analog photography. Realizing the lens was made possible thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that has had a tremendous success, raising $ 1,396,149, almost 14 times the minimum amount allocated initially.

Who has not booked the Petzval lens during the crowdfunding campaign will now have to shell out $ 300 for a figure much higher, or 549 € for the brass version and $ 649 for the black version. The lens is available for pre-order Nikon F-mount or Canon EF and includes leather case, brass cap, cleaning cloth, 7 apertures of different sizes (from f/2.2 to f/16), four experimental diaphragms and the book Peztval.

The Petzval lens is characterized by a particular perspective and specialized in portraits, offering a distinctive bokeh, with a particular circular effect, able to put greater emphasis on the subject, the images featured on this site does not seem to be a particularly sharp lens, but great for those who want to make them look soft and dreamy images, very interesting for portraits. The look is very vintage, as well as the style of the lens and its use, with a particular focus on the rack.
