Canon’s entry into the mirrorless market has undoubtedly been disappointing in several respects, especially for the proposed system, with an autofocus extremely slow and issues related to the display. The Nissan but will try again with the Canon EOS M2, just presented the new mirrorless camera in Japan.

Canon EOS M2 lines very similar to its predecessor, a very low body that weighs 238 grams 262 grams compared to the other model, and introduces several improvements in the hardware sector , including free Wi-Fi to share and transfer photos and an autofocus system significantly more efficient.

The camera uses the new Hybrid AF II that has so far appeared on the EOS 100D, which promises a focus up to 39 points and 2.3 times faster with respect to the model previous generation, this is a great news for photographers since the original EOS M was widely criticized precisely because of this issue, do not live up to expectations and too slow. The sensor board is a CMOS 18-megapixel APS-C.

The rest of the

technical equipment includes the DIGIC 5 processor, ISO range up to 12800 (expandable to ISO 25600), Wi-Fi connectivity, feature dust removal system of digital noise reduction , color correction, E-TTL automatic flash and shutter speed of 1/4000 to 30 seconds.

At the moment the announcement was made in Japan and still is not known whether the distribution will arrive in Europe – including Italy – or not, it seems very likely given that the Canon brand products are widely distributed in our country. Will be sold in Japan from mid-December with a price of 64,800 yen (equivalent to 463 euro exchange rate) for the camera body only, while the kit with EF-M18-55 IS STM will come at 84.800 yen, about € 606 at current exchange rates.
