full article passes between hands before reaching yours: its editor, possibly other writers, the designer, editorial secretary … But from time to time, small errors creep into the cracks and come up kiosk. Fortunately, in most cases it is mild details.
However, in issue 59 of the magazine World Photo , two of these errors affect the information provided in the management of the sensitivity of the cameras. The first is on page 123, in the test of the Canon EOS 70D: The last vignette is not taken at ISO 51200 (sensitivity that the camera does not have), but ISO 25600
.
The second is on page 127, in the test of the Panasonic Lumix GX7: the first thumbnail is not ISO 150, ISO 125 but
.
We present our apologies for these errors.
the way, so that everyone can get the idea, here are some vignettes taken at ISO 3200 on both devices (for a scaled drawing 20 x 30 cm):
Canon EOS 70D, ISO 3200, taken from a 20×30 cm at 300 dpi.
Panasonic Lumix GX7, Iso 3200, extracted from a 22.5 x30 cm at 300 dpi.
we test both devices at the same time the pictures were taken the same day under the lights very close, which makes much easier than usual comparison (although the difference between Lumix 14 – 42mm and EF-S 18-135 mm play on the details). The record is quite different: in the shadows beneath the balcony, the chromatic noise is visible on the EOS 70D, in return, smooth GX7 more texture and tarnishes the image of the green foliage
.
However, some may prefer the rendering of the Micro 4/3 against the APS, which was unimaginable a few years ago: the latest devices in 4/3 “increased significantly while the APS seem rather sluggish – in fact, Canon did not announce to improve sensitivity, the new features the EOS 70D is more oriented towards the development referred to on screen
