Full format CMOS Canon video at night unless ... - PC Inpact

Canon just put online a video to praise the performance of the CMOS “full-frame” 35mm sensor. It was carried out with an extremely low light (less than 0.01 lux), but that does not prevent him from proposing a result for the least impressive.

March, Canon unveiled a new CMOS sensor 35mm “Full-frame” specially designed to record video when the ambient light is very low. For this, the manufacturer explained that he used 19 microns pixels, 7.5 times larger than those found in the sensor EOS 1D X. This situation is reminiscent of the improvements that can be found on some smartphones, like the HTC One with UltraPixel or iPhone 5s (see dossier).

order to image its promises Canon has just put online a video made in the jungle on Ishigaki island off Taiwan. During the shooting, the ambient light was less than 0.01 lux and no artificial light source was used. For comparison, a night of full moon is already 0.5 lux.
