div An opinion Romain David, actor.

So that’s a new royal decree as a Happy New Year 2014 is about to be signed in order to reform the status of artist. This reform drastically reduced access to unemployment and protection intermittently. Technicians show will now be excluded from any particular diet. They will fall first. The young artists, fresh out of school, fall with them. If this reform is signed, our art schools send the job market thousands of winners as cannon fodder on the battlefield. We congratulate probably in high places, the generated by this reasonable and what it means economy: the total and permanent loss problems

?

Maggie De Block, our hyper-immigration minister, understood that close enough to home centers for loud and clear that there was more immigrants in Belgium. Result: hiding and insecurity have increased, the ignorance of the population too. But undocumented, they provided always there. Madame De Coninck, our Minister of Employment, preparing to do the same: reducing access for unemployed artists, there will be fewer artists office unemployed! The comparison may be fragile, but the process is the same: the leak. It was already one of Fadila Laanan last year. Ignore the issue is not yet clear the problem: what are the consequences of a policy which, on the one hand, reduced budgets for culture and the other condemns access to unemployment for intermittent show? Underground, insecurity, ignorance … and anger.

Pretty

hyphen that this reform: Culture – Employment – Business-Social – Education Higher Arts! Voices are heard to convene the Estates General of Culture. It would have all these skills ( Culture Social Affairs, Employment, Education ) there are associated. Or still we face receding policies, juggling a cap to another, weaken and divide the sector. Today is the reform of the status of artist. Yesterday was the budget and the appointment, CAPT companies. Before yesterday, conservatories battled to preserve their teaching jobs. Tomorrow will be the turn of institutions bleeding. All these attacks reveal a fact: the growing disinterest of government for artistic thing . This is worrying, because it is difficult to assess to what extent this trend is reversible. Not from an economic point of view, but from the point of view of political will and courage.

If we had

meet all of these skills, it would a lot of people at the table of the States General. But why not? We would be right – especially in times of crisis – to enhance artistic creation and the status of the artist. The arrogance is in the head of our political leaders who refuse to recognize the culture brings to a country’s economic and social benefit. This is not muzzling young artists who will present Belgium afloat. This is not condemning intermittent combat poor they will revive the sacrosanct growth. On the contrary! Studies have shown: culture is an economic factor that generates wealth. Again, this is not the right target Distinguished Ministers! Raise the right!

The cultural sector is also quick to mobilize to tear. There are reasons to be angry. We must remain vigilant. It is culture, certainly, and not only. It is also a question of dignity.
