“In Japan Canon unveils Canon EOS M2, its second mirrorless: no Dual Pixels CMOS AF, but only the most advanced version of the previous model Hybrid CMOS AF II”

Those who expected to see land the Dual Pixel CMOS AF immediately on Canon mirrorless home will be disappointed at the time: Canon Japan has announced its Canon EOS M2 which represents an evolutionary step than the previous model, but that does not employ the revolutionary technology fielded by the red and white house at the launch of the Canon EOS 70D SLR. The new Canon EOS M2 fact uses the new Hybrid AF II, launched on the small EOS 100D, evolution of the Hybrid AF system used on the EOS M, but always based on a limited number of phase detection sensors on the surface of CMOS.

system Hybrid CMOS AF II promises, however, a focus 2.3 times faster than the previous model , good news in this sector since the mirrorless Canon had proven to give his side to several criticisms. The sensor is a CMOS 18-megapixel APS-C , assisted by the DIGIC 5 processor, and can work up to nominal sensitivity of ISO 12800, ISO expandable to 25600. Among the features are the presence of Wi-Fi connectivity and an integrated space-saving 8%.

At the moment the announcement was made in Japan, yet it is not known if the distribution is also coming in our country. This news seems to confirm the rumor emerged some time ago, which gave two mirrorless coming from Canon, only one of which features the Dual Pixel CMOS AF: So there is still hope to see it open, perhaps already upcoming CES in Las Vegas.
